Meet Véronique Richon, Maid
I joined the Hotel Le Frégate Provence thanks to a job fair organized by Pôle Emploi (the French public employment service) at the beginning of the 2019 summer season.
I started on a seasonal contract, having just arrived from Madagascar, and it was the first job I found in France. I really enjoyed the atmosphere; the team and management made my integration into the resort very easy. It's a real pleasure to come to work here every day.
I wasn't trained for this job; I was previously a sales assistant in a shop in Madagascar. I learned everything from scratch thanks to my colleagues and my department head. I immediately felt comfortable and confident within the team.
Today, I just signed my permanent contract, so I'm proud because I've truly progressed in my role. The work environment is very pleasant, as is the staff—everyone is smiling and friendly, a team where you feel good.
I think my superiors trust my work; they encourage me every day! Our team is a wonderful place to be, we share new experiences every day, and I also get to share my work with newcomers—it's a real pleasure.
I don't speak French fluently yet, I speak a little English, and we rarely have Malagasy clients!
